Subject:Dating a Cloisonne Kamidana
Posted By: Pekka Tue, Oct 23, 2018 IP: 2001:7d0:83ba:4480:3 I have a nice and unusual cloisonne Kamidana (31 cm high) but I don't know the age of it. As I know it was acquired after the Russo-Japanese war (1904-05). So I guess it was made in the 19th century. can anybody help me with dating etc? |

Posted By: Gregory A Schwartz Thu, Nov 08, 2018 This is typical Japanese cloisonne of late 19th century early 1900s to about 1915 or thereabouts. Unusual form. Probably made for export since it is a picture frame in the western style but of Japanese Kamidana |
