A Fabulous large Antique oak cased Winterhalder and Hoffmeier bracket clock with eight day triple chain driven fusee movement, chiming quarters on four gongs and striking hours on a large gong, the brass arched dial with chime/silent, slow/fast subsidiary dials above a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic hour numerals and fleur-de-lys half-hour markings, framing a matt centre.
There is also a pull repeat.
This movement is working perfectly.
The beautiful oak case is tastefully restrained in style and has superbly carved sound frets with silk backing and oak fluted Corinthian columns to the front.
The dial is particularly nice with its silvered chapter ring and well cast spandrels.
The glass bezel is silvered
Clocks manufactured by the Black forest firm of Winterhalder and Hoffmeier have always been of high quality and sought after by collectors all over the world but it is uncommon to find their clocks fitted with chain driven triple fusee movements such
