Subject:Small Handpainted (?) Creamer, Mark on Bottom
Posted By: Lance W Frazer Mon, Oct 08, 2018 IP: 2601:204:4001:3df5:4 I guess these things come in pairs, but here's another small creamer the identification of which I am in need of help. It's about 3 1/8 inches tall at the highest point, 5 inches across the widest (outer edge of handle to lip of pouring spout). Painted a medium green, with scattered images painted on in black. I've posted a picture of the item and the marks on the bottom, and will appreciate any help. |

Tea and chocolate sets, among other things in the pattern, were made by the historic Eiraku kilns in the Kutani area of Japan around the late Meiji period. These wares also came in what I believe was a more popular red ground. See link and photos of a red Eiraku chocolate pot and creamer in my own collection. |
