Subject:What period is this small Dish from?
Posted By: SkyFullofStars Wed, Sep 26, 2018 IP: 47.158.171.158

I would like to know more about several Chinese porcelain items I got from a collector in my area . If you can confirm the period style / signature that would be a great help to me.

The mark is upside down, but reads: Kozan 庫山 Gama 窯 (Kozan kiln), see my picture.
Modern Japanese mark.

Kozan Gama is founded in 1971 (Kozangama) and is a house brand of the Maebata China Corporation, Tajimi City (Gifu) and is still in operation today. Mainly producer for export to Europe and USA. Wares with this mark are Mino ware, not to be confused with the Kazan Gama mark, which is Arita porcelain.

Regards,
Martin.

thank you so much for your help. For some reason I thought it was Chinese and yes I couldn't find anything similar. It is in perfect condition and doesn't look vintage. thanks for your help!

Hi,

Maybe you couldn't find it because it isn't Chinese but Japanese. The mark reads "Kozan Gama" wich means Kozan kiln. It's not that old….. last quater 20th. century.

Arjan
