Subject:Qianlong Vase?
Posted By: John Mon, Jun 04, 2018 IP: 94.197.121.121

Hello everyone , I recently purchased this Vase. I think it is Qianlong , judging by the base and the style of the ladies. Can anyone confirm if I am on the right track! I am a learner so I hope someone can help. Many thanks in Advance. Here is the link to the pics.

Not of the 18th century, Qianlong period. It’s painted in the famille verte palette, but not of the Kangxi era either, judging by the style of the painting and the exposed porcelain paste.

Your vase most likely dates from the Guangxu reign, during the Kangxi revival period, circa late 19th to early 20th century.

I believe it is a modern reproduction, only because the painting of the facial features seems off. I am not 100% sure but to me it seems like a repro. Sorry to disappoint but maybe a more experienced person can chime in.

I would think more likely to be late Qing. But the unglazed foot is very bizarre unless the vase is very large.

That foot is suspect, and while the artist was skilled it doesn't look old. Spiral grooves on a foot is modern. An nice reproduction. 20C.
