Subject:Help Identifying an interesting Edo era woodblock print
Posted By: Pythagoras1357 Thu, Apr 12, 2018 IP: 2600:1700:ed90:1610: I have a print that I'm trying to identify, and I'm a total noob, becoming fascinated with the richness of this art form, and the complexity of identification. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to identify on my own, and I believe this piece is from 1861, but have been unable to identify the artist, publisher, or translate the title. It's an awesome piece, and similar to this work by Kunichika IMO https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/128211920625887146/, but I'm unable to verify any connection, whether it was him, a student, a mentor or? Any help is much appreciated! |
