Posted By: Bill H Sun, Apr 15, 2018 The mark on your bowl has been presented in the forum recently on the base of a probable Kangxi-period plate (link). This bowl is the first time I've seen it in conjunction with what I believe is called the "lotus web" pattern, although there's no doubt that the design and mark were both in use during the early 18th century. Be that as it may, some of the pieces I've handled in the "lotus web" design in recent years have left me with the impression that this pattern may have been issued in modern times on antique-style tea wares made in both China and Japan, not that your bowl appears to be a new one. |
