Subject:Cloisonne Vase with Mark
Posted By: kay Mon, Jan 15, 2018 IP: 2600:1003:b107:2026: Hello! Can someone help me identify the mark on the bottom of this cloisonné vase? Thank you in advance! |

Posted By: Guy Wed, Jan 17, 2018 The technique applied here is not cloisonné but enamel champlevé. The vase is Japanese from the middle Meiji period (1880s-90s). I read the mark partially as 吉?謹製 (Kichi + character not read kinsei). 'Kinsei' (謹製) can be translated as 'made with respect'. |
