Subject:Request Recommendations on Old Japanese Scroll Care
Posted By: Allen Sun, Jan 07, 2018 IP: 2601:983:8000:15b:0:

Hello All,
I have an old scroll. The painting portion is still quite nice; however, where the scroll connects to the wood at the top and at the bottom it is torn and pulling apart. This is preventing me from hanging the scroll. I would like recommendations on what to do with the scroll as I would like to display it. I have received recommendations to cut out the painting part and mat and frame it. I have been told to look into having it professionally repaired. This would be a good idea, but looked into it and it is very expensive, many hundreds of dollars. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with such an issue? Many thanks in advance for any info or help.
