Posted By: Ardath Berliant Thu, Oct 19, 2017 IP: 2603:300a:150f:f200:

I would greatly appreciate some help identifying the porcelain piece I have. I believe it is Chinese. Thank you.

First the reading of bottom inscription,
五良太甫 Wuliang Taifu
呉祥瑞造 Wu Xiangrui zao (made)

On Japanese and Chinese sites there are various theories about the Japanese origin of the potter
active in Jingdezhen at the end of Ming era.
(Birth and death unknown)

With regards,
I.Nagy

Dear Ardath

Is it possible to have more pictures of this object? I feel severe doubt about its being late Ming in origin simply because of the appearance of the porcelain.

Kind regards
J.Lim
