Posted By: Bokaba Sun, Oct 15, 2017 This is a c. 1970s tourist trade snuff bottle. I can't speak to the characters, but they may have a date. I included a couple of pictures of 19th Century children playing from the Bob Stevens book. |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Oct 19, 2017 The second line at the right of the inscription has a cyclical date of 'Yihai san' (乙亥三), possibly meaning the third month or March in that year, which last came around in 1995. The third line starts at the top apparently with '宇' (yu), meaning room or universe, possible a given name. The last character in the same line is 作 (zuo), meaning done by". I draw a blank on whatever is in the middle. |
