Subject:Prawn painting
Posted By: Cecile Wed, Sep 13, 2017 IP: 23.233.56.237

I found two paintings in the snow last winter at the end of a long driveway of a large home. They put them out for garbage day. The glass was broken on both paintings. Can someone tell me anything about what is written and who the artist is. I will post the other painting later. Thank you!

Dear Cecile,
I would appreciate a better focused pix of the script (if possible divided into two) because this one is completely out of focus, far and blurred.
(I can not magnify it)
With regards,
I.Nagy

Thank you for the sharp pix.
Here is the reading,

From the brilliant drawing of the "Old Man of the Apricot Village" Qi Baishi, sketched in the Year of
Metal Monkey (1944) as learning by
Seal of the painter,
For the time being I can't read it.(Right side blurred)

Qi Baishi (1864-1954) a famous Chinese painter,

Looks like a reproduction of a Qi Baishi (Chinese) painting. Originals are valuable but reproductions and forgeries are ubiquitous.
