Subject:Asian Dish Mystery
Posted By: Kyle Thu, Aug 10, 2017 IP: 2605:9080:1014:3005: This looks like a Chinese dish to me, but I have been unable to find any like it on the internet. It is in very good condition and I thought it might be some sort of repro. My friend has some newer dishes from Jingdezhen which are "hand-painted," but the hand-painting is limited to filling in the lines of the printed design with blue wash. This one is entirely hand-painted and has a very fine, hard to see, crackled glaze. Could it be an earlier copy of something older or maybe Japanese or Korean? I'm stumped. Thanks for any help. |
