Based on what I found online, you apparently have a Republic-era Chinese basket-handle water pot or kettle, probably is made of pewter, which the Chinese website simply refers to as "tin" (锡 - xi), the primary metal in the pewter alloy I believe.
Your markings are in three parts: one consisting of two-characters, 萬合, (Wan he - "perfectly agreeable");, the next being four characters, 馬貴記造 (Ma Gui Ji Zao - "Made under the Registered Mark of Ma Gui"); and the third possibly 申江浦家 (Shen jiang pu(?) jia - "House on the Shen river bank" (but unsure of the "pu' character, and this part did not appear on the item seen online).
"Ma Gui" is presumed to be a surname and given name. Otherwise, "Ma" has a root meaning of "horse" and "Gui" is "honorable".
The link shows the other kettle found online at a Chinese language website. Perhaps your browser includes a translation capability
Best regards,
Bill H.
