Subject:Cleaning jade

I have a lovely jade sculpture that has lived in a smokers home for 40 years. I am having trouble cleaning the nicotine off and am wondering why the sculpture is changing shades.

Soak the craving in warm waster spiked with dish-wash detergent.
Soak for a few days, then see if is the color is back to normal, and if a stronger solution is needed, then use laundry detergent. don't forget, you are washing a stone, and so, nothing can go wrong.
Kep us informed how successful you are. Also, after soaking, sniff, and if it still stinks, stronger solutions!!!!!
