Subject:Help identifying a print
Posted By: Terry Sat, Jan 07, 2017 IP:

I have a print that has been in my family for several years. I posted it on the Ukiyo-e Q&A page and was directed to this site, I have linked to that page and my posted image. A person by the name of Serge has deciphered the title as Nine Beauties and believes it may be Chinese instead of Japanese.
The photo is not very good quality, but I can get a better photo at a later date. I believe it is a woodblock print, but may possibly be a painting. I have also uploaded images of the signature an seal.

It is a Chinese picture, perhaps mass produced, quite recent, but with a false signature of Ming painter Tang Yin. The title is indeed "9 beauties"

Thank you, Rat.

I had contacted a collector late yesterday who confirmed that the painting is "Nine Beauties" and that Tang Yin was from Jinchang and that he often signed with the four characters representing Jinchang Tang Yin just as his follower did in this recent (possibly last 50 years) painting.

I appreciate your time and response.
