Subject:Japanese Signature Seal Mark KANO NAONOBU ???
Posted By: Kayla Thu, Mar 17, 2005 I have been told by RY in this forum a while back that this was the signature of KANO NAONOBU but I could not find a similar signature of this artist to compare. Is this by KANO NAONOBU or is it someone else. Any confirmations ??? |

Posted By: Kayla Sat, Mar 19, 2005 I think the Naonobu that I have looks like a woodblock print. It is almost the same (not exact) as the one pictured on the Japanese website. Did he do woodblocks or just watercolors? Or is this just a modern reproduction. But it does look like an original?? |

Posted By: geo. Sat, Mar 19, 2005 From what I've read, Naonobu was a painter, and seeing as how he lived before multi-colored "brocade" printing was even developed, I think it's a safe bet that your woodblock is a modern reproduction. |
