Anyone ever hear of a Japanese bronzesmith, probably of the 20th century, named Nishi, Taiyu? I'm trying to track down further information on the studio or individual whose signature is on the pictured vase. It once belonged to the late Commissioner of American Baseball, Bowie Kuhn. Oral provenance indicates it was a gift from his Japanese couterpart on a visit with an American team that played exhibition games in Japan circa the early 1970s.
I'd be much obliged for any help.
