Greetings and I'm so glad I've found you! :-) I need help with a lovely UCHIDA print. Would love to know it's age, and what the subject is? It looks like a Kabuki Actor? Also, could you interpret what the characters are saying, and help ID the artist? It has UCHIDA watermark, so am hoping it's a "Quality" piece. I know very little about this area of Collecting, but think it is truly beautiful! Is this a limited edition?

Your print is by Hasegawa Sadanobu IV and is a Kabuki print of the noted warrior priest Benkei.

It's difficult to date prints like these as they have been produced for years and are still printed when supplies run low. Uchida is geared primarily to the tourist genre market and their prints are not sought after much by collectors.
