Subject:Japanese Woodblock Print - Can u identify the artist, date, etc...
Posted By: Wed, Aug 12, 2009 IP: 75.121.214.239 Hello, I have a woodblock print (assuming it's a reproduction). Can any of you identify the original artist and/or what the three seals say? |

Posted By: Mon, Aug 17, 2009 IP: 81.11.219.120 It's a design by the great Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) - print title "Ryogoku yusuzumi" (Evening cool at Ryogoku) from and untitled series of views of places in Edo, from around 1800-1805, sealed "Gakyojin" which means "The man mad about painting". |
