Subject:Identification of Japanese Mark
Posted By: Sunitha Palaveettil Sun, Feb 21, 2021 IP: 187.155.216.148

Hello all,

I would greatly appreciate help with identifying this mark. The seller maintains it is an antique Japanese Nabeshima plate. I am no expert but it looks Chinese to me. Any help would be much appreciated.

The mark is Japanese and reads: Fuku (good fortune), see my picture.
Fuku is often seen on Meiji (1868-1912) and Taisho (1912-1926) porcelain. However, to determine if it is really antique, we need to see the decorated site as well.
Regards,
Martin.
