Subject:Buddha -Where is it from?
Posted By: Matthias Klemm Thu, Jan 28, 2021 IP: 2a02:120b:2c1d:2e30: Can anyone help me to identify this buddha statue? It is about about 36cm high and the material should be brass. It has a fine line around the neck with a tin seal (see images attached). Assume it's from Asia. Thanks for the help!

Posted By: Paul Wed, Feb 02, 2022 The three letters on the tin seal are Thai (กพช.) and the "." at the end indicates that it is an abbreviation (of three words) for something which I do not know. So it was made in Thailand and looks to be some (unusual) version of a Chinese Hotei, or Happy Buddha. Not a traditional Thai figure. I will guess it was made anywhere from mid-20th century to the present. Hope this helps.
