My girlfriend has this box/case it was given to her by her parents many years ago. We're looking for a little more information as to what it is exactly. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Thank you very much for the information, we greatly appreciate it. It's definitely a curious piece and has both of us looking up information on the yuhua stones and some of the history of Nanjing. Very curious and interested is why someone would want to preserve and present one of these stones this way.
