It is Chinese,
Inscriptions around (Simplified characters are transcribed into their original complex forms),

何風送香氣 竹露滴清響
乙丑年

The breeze passing through the lotuses brings a nice scent
and the dew of bamboo leaves falls with a pure sound

Year of Wood-Buffalo (1985)

This is a citation from Meng Haoran's poem titled
"A Summer Day Reverie in the Southern Pavilion"
(夏日南亭懐辛大)

With regards,
I.Nagy
