Subject:Help Identifying Chinese Bowl
Posted By: Paul Mon, Dec 21, 2020 IP: 2601:643:100:aef:a07

Hello: I was recently given this bowl and know nothing about it. It is about 7" in diameter, with 2 hair lines, rim chips and porosity throughout. The sides have 1 prunus, 1 lotus and 2 peony designs. The center has what I think is a peach with leaves. Any information you can share is appreciated Thank you!

The bowl would appear to have a 'four-seasons' floral pattern, consisting of (per wikipedia, org) the orchid (spring), the lotus (summer), the chrysanthemum (autumn) and the plum blossom (winter). Possibly Republic-period (1912-49) to late 20th century. The red stamp on the base is indistinct in parts. I tried several possible character combos but got nowhere with my google searches. Maybe eagle-eyed I.Nagy can sort it out.

Best regards,

Bill H.
