Posted By: Martina Wed, Oct 28, 2020 IP: 80.193.230.20

Hello,
Could someone help me to identify the Chinese seal mark and it’s age on this paste box please?
Thank you for taking your time.
Regards,
Martina

Your box has decoration outside of various auspicious symbols continued on the inside surfaces with what apparently is a parasol (Buddhist symbol) at left and a stylized 'Shou' (longevity) character at right. The bottom image of a red four-character mark is too challenging for me due to its lack of readable size and focus.

Best regards,

Bill H.

The mark is a stamped Qianlong mark. The piece is likely from Macao or Hong Kong. Not very old. Sorry it was not better news.

No doubt now, it's an apocryphal mark of 'Made during the Qianlong reign of the Great Qing Dynasty' (Da qing qian long nian zhi - 大清乾隆製). The white glaze splashes around the inner foot ring are typically seen on transfer wares on which the bottoms often are re-glazed before the reign mark decal is applied for firing.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Hello, the image of the mark is too small to see precisely which QING dynasty mark it is but I suspect it is new. The blue does not look correct and appears to be very thick. Best guess from the photos is within the last 35 years. If you post larger and better photos I can tell you what it is with near 100% certainty.
