Subject:Shiwan pottery maybe?
Posted By: Caroline Beehl Sun, Oct 18, 2020 IP: 62.117.185.6

I would so much appreciate help in identifying the characters on the bottom of my vase and maybe the origin. I have been sent in the direction of Shiwan ware, but after literally months and months of searching I am still unable to find anything similar. As an extra that the photos cannot describe, it is very heavy for its size, and the clay walls are almost 1cm thick. Thanks so much in advance for any help.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for sharing your expertise with others. It is really appreciated.
I love the vase and am so pleased to imagine the artist forming the clay over 40 years ago the other side of the world. Thank you.
