Hello,

I think this silk embroidery is japanese but certainly coming from Indochine or Vietnam, 1950/1960, because of the country I bought it, the frame, the way the empbroidery is done, but it is just my thinking,
Is someone can translate me the writting, ot give me other ideas,
Thank you in advance for your help,
Sincerely,
Antigone

Inscription,
漁歌晩唱 - Fisherman's evening song

Might be Vietnamese or Chinese, but not Japanese.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Dear Nagy,

Thank you so much for your reply, and translation,
I have some painting on silk coming from vietnam dating 1920/1940 but I think japanese, and some pictures I have just bought of japanese women in Saigon during Indochine, I'll show you them, that's why I was not good, and I thought to see 'Fuji month" on this embroidery,
You are right, more Chinese or Vietnamese,
I have embroidery I bought in Vietnam, some years ago, so it could be Vietnamese, I show you them,
I am quite interested in Japanese people living in Vietnam at the beginning of the 20th,
Thank you so much for your help,
Sincerely,
antigone
