Subject:Please help date this Qianlong Vase
Posted By: Armando Wed, Oct 14, 2020 IP: 2607:fb90:a029:4fae:

I have tried my hardest through google images to date this Qianlong Tulip Vase. Any help would be greatly be appreciated. I’m doing this for my mother and I’m not getting anywhere with google.

Vases weren't made in China like this for more than a century and a half after the Qianlong emperor died. This is a late 20th century example of transfer decoration from the bottom up. The Chinese porcelain industry didn't adopt transfer technology on a continuing commercial basis until the early 20th century, and I've seem some of the early work that was much more subtle than what came later.

Best regards,

Bill H.
