Subject:Translate purpose of Japanese or Chinese WW2 Child's book ?
Posted By: dfss Fri, Oct 09, 2020 IP: 73.231.184.37

I would like to know if anyone can tell me the translation of this book? Is appears to be WW2 era, and was bought with other ephemera from that time period. I was told it is not Kanji script. Thank you for your time..

It is Japanese,

Pic.1.
Title page,
ヱノホン - E no hon - Picture book
モンブシャウ - Mombushō - Ministry of Education

Pic.2,
Inscriptions on the tabs for sticking
ノリシロ - Nori shiro - Apply paste

Inscriptions are written in katakana script. Before the war the katakanas were taught first in elementary schools.

Pic.3,
モモタラウ - Momotarō - Peach Boy
Name of a popular folk tale figure in Japan.

With regards,
I.Nagy
