Hi all
My husband and i found this print at a thrift store and couldnt pass it up. I cant seem to find anything about it or anyone that could translate any writing.
Hope someone could help identify it.

I believe your Japanese print is by Kuniyasu (1794 - 1832) and is from his series Genji uta awase - Genji Poetry Contest and dates to circa 1820. We'll have to wait for I. Nagy to provide full details.

See the link below for another print from this series:

The Genji-mon in the fan-shaped cartouche in the upper right corresponds to Chapter 4 (Yƻgao (Evening Faces)) from Murasaki Shikibu's "The Tale of Genji". The series appears to be of famous geishas. I don't know if there is a geisha corresponding to all 54 chapters.

Cheers,
Stan
