Subject:Contemporary watercolor, artist name?
Posted By: Joakim Thu, Oct 01, 2020 IP: 90.230.28.59

Dear forum. I have a contemporary watercolor painting depicting what I presume to be a Japanese building. I can’t make out the signature but I believe its not written using latin letters. If someone recognizes the artist by the style of the painting or can help me translate the signature I would be most grateful! I absolutely love this painting and it strikes me as very high-end.

Dear Joakim,
Your watercolor is Chinese, depicting very typical old Chinese houses.
The signature uses Chinese characters, but at least one third of it is hidden behind the frame.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Dear I.Nagy,
Thank you for clarifying the origin of my painting and what it depicts! I have taken some more photos without the frame (included in this post) so that the whole signature is now visible. Do you think that it is now possible to decipher the name of the artist? Best regards Joakim

Thank you for the new picture,
I read it,
祁盛 - Qi Sheng - Surname and given name.

I can't identify him.

With regards,
I.Nagy
