Signature,
嶺橋 - Reikyō
Upper seal,
嶺 - Rei - (Peak)
Lower seal,
橋 - Kyō - (Bridge)

I can't find an artist with this name anywhere, albeit the names of the hanga-artists who been working between the two WW era not all are known.
There is an infill name and biographical dictionary currently under editing at "Hanga-do Publisher" - but I think it will take some more time before we get it in our hands.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Your So Generous! Thanks I. Nagy - There is that name written on back of the Frame it was in but since I could not find that Artist name I figured it wasn't right. Hanga Artists you say? I will have to look them up for my reference at least. It is a nice Block print with some age to it. It is possible with your help on the last Woodblocks you said were pages from the famous "Mustard Seed Garden Manual Of Painting" that they may be actual 1st Edition Pages from the 5th Volume printed in 1679. they match so perfectly line for line with at least one of my pages I found on the MET Museum's Collection of 1st Edition Pages of this book. And mine are definitely Woodblocks and very old. Will take more research ....Yours Truly, Gary K

For your entertainment, if you do an image search, your print is available as a modern print. See the link below. Interestingly, they wrongly attribute it to an unknown Chinese artist.

We have a number of kacho-e (birds, flowers, insects) prints. All of ours date from the tail end of the 19th century. For example, the prints by Imao Keinen, Matsumura Keibun, and Kono Bairei below.

Cheers,
Stan

Very interesting Thanks! Nice to know its from the 19th Century. I. Nagy could not locate the Artist but that his name is Keikyo. Awesome quality art prints you have! Thanks for info. and sharing your fine Prints! Sincerely, Gary K

With I. Nagy's information, I tried to find information on Keikyo and came up dry.

Each of our prints above is part of a series. The number in the series is indicated upper right. We have other prints in each series, but not a complete set of any series.

Cheers,
Stan

Dear Gary and Stan,

The artist's name is 嶺橋 Reikyō - not Keikyo !

Thanks! Either Spelling its still impossible to find any info. Had another Response to my Question on this piece saying the same thing but he had found a website that was selling a Copy of this same Woodblock. The Site also said that it was an unknown Artist. Cheers! Gary k
