Hi there, could anybody help me with the calligraphy on these two dreamstone panels , the frames look 1980’s ish but the panels could have been reframed.
Any thoughts?
Kind regards
Lesley

If I might add just one note, the characters 'Dali/大理' in the last line of the 2nd picture suggests the piece came from Dali, in China's Yunnan province, which name is synonymous with marble in general and such dreamstones in particular. See link below.

Gosh, thank you very much Bill. The article is extremely interesting.
What a shame that no one has signed these two panels, I would love to know when they were cut and by whom, they really are extraordinary and compelling to look at.
Thank you again,
Lesley

Here's another link that may be of interest vis-à-vis your dreamstones. It pertains to a dreamstone association involving the author of the article at the other link I posted.

Thank you again, Bill, very interesting article. The more I dig into these things the more fascinating they become.
Fortunately , I read that they are sometimes coated with wax before I tried to remove what I thought was a random spill on the face of the panel!
Kind regards
Lesley
