Hello all. Can anyone give me more information on this statue and ID of the impressed mark? Thank you so much.

The first character is a bit distorted but looks like it should read 'Made by Zhang Xinhua' (Zhang Xin Hua zao - 張新華造). I found no records for anyone of this name searching the characters on Google or in my collection of lists of porcelain sculptors at Jingdezhen during late Qing, Republic and early People's Republic periods.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am attaching another picture of mark that I think is clearer.

That's a much clearer image and I still see the same characters, 'Zhang Xinhua Zao' (張新華造), made by Zhang Xinhua. Identifications of Chinese artisans isn't always possible, as some didn't always remain employed in the porcelain factories and others were victims of 20th century military conflicts in China.

Best regards,

Bill H.
