Subject:Identifying Artists Seal
Posted By: Val Chin Mon, Sep 07, 2020 IP: 73.241.6.1

My family has a painting that was received as a gift, and I am trying to identify the artist. Does anyone recognize this seal or have a way to identifying who the artist is? Thanks!

Seal reads,
琴十 - Qin Shi (From right to left)
十琴 - Shi Qin (Ten lutes) (From left to right)
It is an art-name or pseudonym.
Without the colophon with signature and the whole picture it's difficult to say anything more.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thanks I.Nagy for the response! I've attached a image of the painting to this response, but there isn't much in terms of context (no other writings or distinguishing marks). But if anyone knows anything about this painting I'd greatly appreciate it.

Dear Val,
Thank you for showing the picture.
Once again I took a closer look at the second "十"
character and its engraving more looks "平".
琴平 Qinping makes more sense as a given name or art-name.
Although, still I can't find artist with this name.

With regards,
I.Nagy
