Subject:Gilt QIANLONG mark coral ground dragon bowl
Posted By: Vicky Tue, Aug 18, 2020 IP: 2a02:c7d:da5e:300:f4 I don't know exactly what to ask about this bowl. It seems unlikely to be of the period but I am having trouble finding anything that has either a similar shape or gilt QIANLING mark. Any thoughts you have would be welcome. |

Posted By: Vicky Tue, Aug 25, 2020 Hi Bill, thanks so much for the information and for the images of your jar. I was recently advised that it likely to have been made around the 1950s? Do you think that unlikely? My images were taken in the evening under a low light so are duller than in a natural light, so the orange and gold are brighter than in the images. Your thoughts would be welcome. |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Aug 27, 2020 If anything, it probably would have been made circa the late 1970 or subsequently, after China got over the turmoil of the third and early 4th quarters of the 20th century. |
