Subject:Two prints, cannot translate writing
Posted By: Carol Thu, Aug 13, 2020 IP: 72.43.13.234

Would anyone not mind translating these two writings on two prints? Thank you.

Title,
清影揺風 - Clear shadow and shake of wind
Signature,
板橋居士 - Banqiao the Retired Scholar

Zheng Xie 鄭燮 a.k.a. Banqiao 板橋 1693-1765

Seal on the other prints reads (upside down),
白石 - Baishi - Most probably Qi Baishi, but without the picture, signature and colophon difficult to say anything sure.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thank you.
I made an error, I hope I have correctly included the other picture below.

A bungled Qi Baishi imitation.
The master never would have released a work with an upside down seal print.

Thank you again. Or perhaps, as I think Qi Bashi was also a well regarded seal maker, someone wanted to make it clear that it was an imitation?
Perhaps someone trying to learn by imitating his work? At least, I hope so.

Carol
