Subject:Black Laquer Plate

Hello,

I'd be grateful if any any experts out there could give any information about a small lacquer plate I recently acquired.

It measures about 20cm diameter and does have some age to it. I suspect, judging by the facial features, that the plate could be of Chinese origin, but then again, I'm no expert.

Any contributions will be much appreciated.

Your plate is English papier-mache and mid to late 19thc.
