Subject:Help identifying Chinese artists
Posted By: Brett W. Fri, Jul 24, 2020 IP: 98.109.133.64

Hi everyone,

I recently acquired these two Chinese watercolors. Well, at least that's what I think they are. I really like them! Haven't been able to figure out who the artist is or what the text says. Any help with this would be truly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Chinese historical beauties in the popular painting style of late Qing dynasty, painted by unidentifiable artists probably for internet auction sales.

The LS picture depicts Xi Shi famous beauty of the late Spring and Autumn period.
No signature,
Seal reads,
仲德 - Zhonde - Unidentifiable art-name

The RS picture depicts an unknown concubine who wants to meet the emperor on an autumn night.
Signature reads,
閩南居士 - Retired Scholar of Minnan - Art-name
Seal reads,
楊鑑州 - Yang Jianzhou

Unidentifiable artist.

With regards,
I.Nagy
