Posted By: Bill H Sun, Jul 19, 2020 Based on images and data in the Mainland China-issued 'Compendium of Marks on Chinese Historical Porcelains', this bowl with base-mark of "Made during the Xuande Reign' (宣德年造 - Xuan de nian zao) is a Ming Wan Li Period (1573-1619) imitation of porcelain from the earlier reign, in power from 1426-1435. The blue & white floral scroll and base-mark shown on the bowl in the book reflects the same design and calligraphic style as seen here, except your bowl is more refined in its painting, albeit more damaged. |
