Subject:stone frog carving

Can anyone tell me if this frog carving is jade and is it new or older? Thank you! David.

Hi David,
Judging by the base of your frog I believe it is not jade.
I note that there appears to be a couple of nicks/other that reveal a whiter under colour. Also that striped effect. This would in all probability indicate Serpentine/other type of stone.
I also believe it's a product of the later 20th century.
