Subject:Symbol on porcelain

Can some one translate or either help find the manufacturer?

The mark just reads: Nihon 日本 = Japan.
Which makes it impossible the say something about the manufacturer.

Those characters (shown 90-degrees left of reading position) mean 'Japan' (Nihon or Nippon - 日本). No clue as to maker, but it may be apparent from the overall appearance of the piece if you care to show it.
