Subject:ID of Chinese handscroll of landscape
Posted By: John Lord Fri, May 15, 2020 IP: 2001:8003:5103:1300:

Could anyone provide a translation of the inscription on his Chinese hand-scroll which measures 25 x 175cm and perhaps identify the artist?

I think it dates from late 19th century - would that be correct?

It's younger,
Dating on the end of the first section says,
丙子歳暮 - At the End of the Year of Fire-Rat (1936)
Colophon at the end of second section says,
於火車窗外望北国山景哉 - Northern scenery seen from the train window
Signature and seal,
煙谷子 - Yanguzi - Art-name

Unfortunately, I can't identify the artist with this art-name.

With regards,
I.Nagy
