Subject:Pot cloisonne enamel (locate the origin ?)
Posted By: Rodolphe Tue, May 12, 2020 IP: 109.88.141.199

Hello, is it possible to locate the origin of this pot without signature or seal.
Can floral patterns or other geometric shapes help with identification?
Thank you

IMO, this is Japanese older doro shippô (cloisonné) with a green background, typical for the late Edo to early Meiji period (1865-1872).

Guy.

I think it’s Japanese. I have a similar cloisonné plate with the geometric design by Kaji Tsunekichi (1803-1883). Photo attached.
