伊喬 - Yi Qiao - Surname and given name
(Sorry, I can't reproduce the simplified form of the second 喬 character on my PC)

With regards,

Thank you I. Nagy for your interpretation and response. Most appreciated. In response to the gentleman who was interested in the validity of the piece being yellow jade, that is a good question. I recently purchased it and I am waiting for it to arrive. How do I test for jade? They say one of the foremost experts of jade was an old blind man. When I first get a jade piece I feel the piece to see if it has that cold jade feel and distinct texture. I look at the piece in sunlight and I look at the piece with light shining through. I look at it with a magnifying glass and a jeweler's loupe. I run specific gravity (density) tests with sensitive scales. The style of carving and craftsmanship are observed and the jade object is viewed as any similar objects to that time-period. I too am rather skeptical that the seal is actually jade but it will be interesting to see what material the seal is actually made from and I will keep you all informed. It is nice to know the meaning of the seal mark. Now if I can find someone with that name maybe I can sell them a chop seal?
