Subject:Request help dating Chinese Jar

Posted By: Bill H Sat, May 09, 2020 You're correct. The mark, shown resting on its left side, reads 'Made during the Tongzhi Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty' when flipped 90 degrees right. In my opinion, the mark bears a great resemblance to other faux marks seen on the gotheborg.com Macao page but for the Qianlong Reign. Like the Macao products, your jar is decorative transfer ware, no older than the late 20th century.
