Subject:Inherited paintings from my parents
Posted By: Bill L Morgan Mon, Apr 20, 2020 IP: 149.32.192.43 My parents worked in Taiwan in the mid to late 50's. While there, they collected a sizable collection of artwork consisting of traditional Chinese paintings, over 1000 total. My parents are now gone and we (brothers and sisters) are wondering what these are, are they important or valuable and what would be the next step in finding homes for them. Attached is a sample of a few including some translations that my father apparently did at the time they were collected. I have been unable to find anyone who can readily translate the script as it appears that this form disappeared at about the same time these were painted or shortly thereafter. I am told that I'd need to find a really old person who still remembers this form of script. Any help you may be able to give or if you can point me in the right direction it would be hugely appreciated. |
