Any help identifing the artist and with the transition of the of my 1954 scroll painting would be appreciated. Is it a tribute to Xu Beihong? The scroll is almost 7ft long when fully unrolled.

Yes, another woodblock print of a painting by Xu BeiHong, this time from the RongBaoZhai studio.

This woodblock technique involved many multiple woodblocks, and the colour is applied by hand by highly skilled artists.

The combination of this hand-colouring and amazing woodblock carving resulted in images which sometimes can be difficult to differentiate from the original.

its rare to see big woodbloc prints of rong baozhai with such fine labeling. as the condition seems to very good, the scrollis definately a highly appriciated collectible for the right circle.
