Subject:2 Antique ginger jars

Hello,
Can anyone tell me the approximate age of this? I have a set of 2, they are large: 10" tall and 9" wide, and weigh over 12 lbs., altogether. The greens all have an iridescence. I was told they were family heirlooms brought with them from China.

I believe the Guangxu era (1875-1908) likely is the applicable dating for your crackle-glaze lidded ginger jars with faux bronze diapering, famille rose "Magpies amidst peonies and prunus" motif, and apocryphal four-character base-marks of "Made during the Kangxi Reign (Kangxi Nian Zhi - 康熙年製).

Best regards,

Bill H.
